This is the story of how I got started couponing again! I am not even close to those people that were on TLC but I can totally see how they got to where they are with stock piles as big as they are. When Emily was a baby I did something called the Grocery Game. For $20 or something like that I could go to their website and print off a list of what was on sale and it would tell me what coupon to use with it to get it at "rock bottom prices". I did that for awhile and I had a pretty decent stock pile....of things that we never used food wise. I didn't have to buy toothpaste for almost two years...or toothbrushes either. Recently I cleaned out my pantry and was amazed at the stuff that I got rid of.
So then the TLC show came on and I was like...hmmmm I think that I could do what they do (minus the dumpster diving) and still get a decent stock pile, save money, and only get the stuff that I know my family will eat or things that I know that I will use. So far after one month I can say that I have saved close to $300 ( will have an exact total later) and I have pretty much only purchased things that my family uses and eats.
I started out small something that I didn't do the last time I tried this just to see if I could in fact coupon and only get things that I know my family would use. To date I think I have saved close to $500 and I have only been doing this for a little over a month.
